Wikipedia https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Thorn_Tree_Sossusvlei_Namib_Desert_Namibia_Luca_Galuzzi_2004a.JPGLife isn’t easy living on the edge of the desert. People adapt very flexibly but it’s not always the obvious things that make living hard.

This is a story about human adaptability and frailty but it also about joy and beauty. Although children play a big part in the story it is not just a children’s story. There is something here for everyone. It started as a very simple tale for my great-grandson when he was just coming up to 3. It was grown and adapted when a 12 year old grandson came to stay. It took on it’s final shape when I took part in a story telling workshop; it was a work in progress but I decided I would see how well it would stand up to adult scrutiny. It survived!
